Indonesian parasite wood carvings come from a parasitic plant, a growth that imbeds itself into the bark of a Chinaberry tree and gets its nourishment from the tree’s sap. These parasite growths are so hard and dense that they don’t decay when the tree dies and rots away. The growths are then gathered and carved into beautiful creatures by master Indonesian artisans. This mushroom cluster head carving shows wonderful detailing and has a hand-rubbed lightly stained finish. The statue measures approximately 13.5 inches tall, 8 inches long and 7 inches wide. Since it is hand carved, each carving is unique, and no two will be exactly the same. It looks great on bookshelves, desks and end tables and makes a wonderful gift for nature lovers. [Note: Due to being hand carved & assembled, some mushrooms might fit loosely in place or come free during shipping and can be re-attached and secured in place with wood glue if necessary]
