One pound per bag of our sterilized, nutrient rich, organic rye grain. This a a sterilized product used in the cultivation of mushrooms. It arrives compacted and shrink wrapped in bundles of two for shipping. Allow substrate to adjust to room temperature and gently loosen the tight pack of the berries before inoculation. Just inject with your favorite liquid culture. Each one pound of processed, sterilized rye grain is approximately 24 FL oz. in volume, equal to about 3 to 4 1/2 pint jars. We offer single bags up to 4 pounds. Rye grain is an ideal substrate to propagate mycelium. Besides being nutrient rich, the grains will hold moisture perfectly and has all the surface area the mycelium needs.
