This is a made to order wooden grow box for indoor/outdoor mushroom growing enthusiasts (product shipped may vary in looks from pictures). Your order will come with one 12″ L x 10.5″ W x 8.5″ H wooden box with lid, sheet of plastic to cover box when mushrooms start to pin, and one sealed 4 to 5 lb pasteurized Riggys Blend bag of substrate (80% mixed hardwood sawdust blend 20% Riggys proprietary blend). Inoculate with your favorite wood loving mushroom species and watch it grow! You can see the mushrooms starting to pin in the pictures. Attached video shows our prototype box that has fruiting and pinning mushrooms. Suggested directions: Open substrate bag and pour into the box, then inoculate with mushroom spawn of your choice and put the lid back on. Keep moist and watch for mushroom pins after approx. 2-3 months (time depends on your choice of species and your growing environment). Once you see the pins forming and then fruit, you need to remove the lid and place the plastic sheet over the box (you will need to put a rod or stick in the middle of the box to form a tent so your mushrooms can grow up and out without touching the plastic sheet, see pictures) make sure the plastic covers the whole box down to the surface it is sitting on. Check and mist your mushrooms with water daily. Condensation droplets on the plastic tent walls is normal and is an indication of proper humidity. If over watered, seepage and excessive puddling on surface may occur. You can reuse the box. After your mushrooms are finished (should get 2-3 flushes per bag) dump out your used substrate and order a new bag of substrate (we sell just the substrate bags separate) and follow the directions above to start a new box. Great for patio or balcony growers. Stack your boxes until fruiting (order multiples). Please contact for any other questions or larger quantities.
