Yun zhi (Trametes versicolor) is a type of mushroom. Trametes versicolor’s most distinguishing feature is the arched bands of brown, tan, and white that resemble the tail of a strutting turkey. Although shades of brown are the most likely, you may find them with stunning bands of blue, red, orange or green. For other identifying characteristics, know that they have no stem, groups of thin caps with concentric zones of varying colors, and a spore print that ranges from whitish to yellowish.
